Animal Bedroom Decorating Ideas are Fun for Everyone
By Karen S Mueller InexpensiveDecoratingIdeas.com
There are, of course, hundreds of animals and you can design an animal bedroom around any one or several of them for your children and even for yourself. Animal bedrooms are fun!
For the children, boys or girls, you can use any animal they like for their animal bedroom design. The animal kingdom contains a vast array of choices for the animals they covet. Plus using animal themes in bedroom designs can be great ways to learn about them.
Pets make popular animal bedroom designs. Puppies and kitties are some favorite animal bedroom themes for the little ones. You will find lots of choices for linens, stuffed animals, curtains, and wall paper designs with cats and dogs on them.
Horses are another huge hit for animal bedroom designs, even for teenagers who enjoy riding - especially pre-teen girls.

In my toddler granddaughters’ room which they sleep in when they visit, I used an underwater animal bedroom design. Two adjacent walls are painted a turquoise sea blue and I left the other walls original off-white.
I filled the room with stuffed sea animals from the Disney store. They have a 4 foot whale and a shark that makes sonic sounds and its tail moves. Plus they have several cute stuffed fishies. I hung 2 posters with aquarium scenes and Nemo. They love their underwater animal bedroom at grandma’s!

In their bedroom at home my daughter hung jungle wallpaper on the lower half of two walls. When her girls were just babies, they learned about monkeys, tigers, lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, and parrots from the forest scenes on their jungle animal bedroom walls. For a baby shower a friend sewed a crib bumper and hand-made crib-sized comforter from a fabulous jungle print fabric she found. Even today my 5-year-old granddaughter’s favorite blankie is that well-washed comforter which she MUST have along with her “giraffe and fish” to go to bed here and at home.
If you want to give either animal bedroom design a try, you can find wonderful wallpaper prints or even draw jungle, underwater, or beach scenes on the walls if you are artistic. For the beach or underwater animal bedroom, you can find seashell items when you go on a beach vacation and visit the gift shops. Maybe you can suggest an original art project to work on with your children. They could find seashells, sand dollars, and starfish on the beach and make something themselves for their underwater animal bedroom.
Dinosaurs are such popular themes today and there are many great toys, prints, posters, and even sheets and pajamas with dinosaurs on them. They can provide lots of interesting scenes for a dinosaur animal bedroom. While usually these rooms would be for a young boy, my 4-year-old granddaughter is also fascinated with dinosaurs.
Use your, or your child’s, imagination to decorate an animal bedroom using any animal he or she likes. There are hundreds to choose from. I enjoy looking through the wall paper and poster sections at my favorite decorating stores just for ideas. Then I like to personalize the design with bits of this and parts of that to make something truly unique for the perfect animal bedroom.
Animal bedroom designs are great for adults too. A contemporary design for a modern woman or couple, for example, can be a zebra bedroom. Using the zebra print fabrics for pillows, bedspreads and drapes, with plenty of pure white and bold black is easy and fun. I do recommend a splash of bright color, like red, yellow, or gold for contrast and maybe a plant in a bright pot to bring in some green. Your color touches can be with candles, pillows, wall art, sculpture, or lamp shades. Use your imagination to personalize the zebra bedroom for your taste.
Switch the zebra print to a leopard print or a tiger print, or any fur, fake or real, and you have another whole design for a wild animal design to suit your taste and mood. Let the wild animal in you be displayed in your animal bedroom.
